This is a must attend workshop for students who are planning to graduate within the next two semesters. The workshop will cover all paperwork and deadlines for graduation including exams, defenses, dissertation committee, committee composition and announcement of intent to graduate. Come to this workshop to make sure you understand all of the processes rather than having to wait another semester to graduate because of missed deadlines or incomplete paperwork.

Assistantships 101: Everything you Need to Know About Being a TA/RA/GA/PA

This session will provide you everything you need to know about being paid as a teaching/research/graduate/project assistant (TA/RA/GA/PA) while you are a graduate student, as well as information about scholarship and fellowship opportunities through the Office of Graduate Studies. Additional information will include other benefits, such as tuition and student health insurance, for graduate students with assistantships. All participants need to have a TA/RA/GA/PA for Fall 2008.

Academic Job Search

Etiquette Workshop: Making An Impression With Your Professional Etiquette Knowledge; A Reception And Dining Presentation

Get that professional edge through learning and/or enhancing your networking and professional etiquette skills. Students will start out with a mock reception/cocktail hour where they will be able to practice mixing and mingling through appetizers, drinks and conversation. This will be followed by a formal, four course dinner emphasizing professional dinner etiquette skills. This is a must attend workshop for all students, particularly, students completing their programs of study and preparing to enter the job market or a graduate program.
