U.S. Department of the Interior, National Indian Programs Training Center (NIPTC)
- Department Description:
The National Indian Programs Training Center (NIPTC) with the US Department of the Interior (DOI) would like to participate in the UNM off-campus work study program. NIPTC is a federal government agency within DOI under Office of the Secretary. NIPTC’s mission is to provide state-of-the-art training to individuals who are committed to fulfilling the government’s responsibilities to Indian Country, either directly or through self-determination partnerships. The Training Center’s facilities consist of over 50,000 square feet of facility space that includes 11 classrooms, five computer labs, two conference rooms, five breakout rooms, two student lounges, a printing/reproductions room, a student services center, a kitchen/lunch area, and a broadcast/ITV studio.

National Farm Workers Service Center - Si Se Puiede Learning Center
- Department Description:
The National Farm Worker Service Center (NFWSC) is a non-profit established by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, to address the social, economic and health needs of farm workers throughout the United States. However, since 1983, the NFWSC has preserved and developed quality affordable housing for Latino and underserved communities throughout the Southwest., serving families throughout AZ, CA, NM and TX.. The NFWSC services include: Housing and Economic Development (HED), educational radio, property management and community services. Within the last three years Community Services has established Si Se Puede! Learning Centers within our properties. Each center provides a safe, caring, fun and interactive environment that encourages learning and focuses on literacy, math and technology, through an after-school and summer program. We have 2 Si Se Puede Learning Centers in New Mexico.

ENLACE / Division of Enrollment Managment
- Department Description:
ENLACE-AmeriCorps Mentor/Tutor maintains a caseload of 30 students in a middle or high school work site within the Albuquerque Public School District. Must be able to maintain an average of 15-20 hours per week during the academic school year. Employee is responsible for acquiring and reporting data regarding student participation, demographics, academic performance, and establishing direct contact with parents of student participants. Mentors will develop a culturally relevant program designed to boost self confidence and nurture leadership abilities of students as they prepare to transition to the higher education system. Mentors will implement an after school tutoring site that will provide tutoring services in mathematics, science, literature, and language arts. Mentors will develop and participate in programmatic activities aimed at promoting academic success.
Educational Scholarship available upon completion of a 450 hours term of service.
Preferred Qualifications:
